Alfa Laval recognises Leaders in Energy Efficiency & Sustainability at HVAC&R industry awards

Alfa Laval is proud to partner with the Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, Cooling and Refrigeration (HVAC&R) industry to design more energy efficient systems to help both the industrial and the building sectors contribute to energy savings and sustainability.

To recognise industry leadership and best practice, Alfa Laval has taken out sponsorship for the 2021 HVAC and R Leadership Awards, for the Energy Savings & Sustainability category. The awards are organised annually by industry publication Climate Control News (Yaffa Publishing).

According to Anson John, Refrigeration Industry Manager, Alfa Laval Australia, the award program allows rewarding the “game changers” for achieving greater energy efficiency.

“Meeting the world’s rising energy demand and while at the same time reducing CO₂ emission is one of the biggest challenges of our time.

“This can only be achieved by improving energy efficiency within HVAC & Refrigeration systems. This means achieving higher heat transfer efficiency with minimal footprint, reducing the size of the inlet/outlet piping (requiring fewer materials), and lowering ammonia charges,” Mr John said.

He added that the award winner should demonstrate a clear goal and road map to improve the energy efficiency of existing and upcoming projects/installations.

“Ideally, the achievements or initiatives should show quantifiable benefits compared with conventional practices. Alfa Laval is already working with several contractors in this regard, to build the business case for more sustainable solutions.”

According to the International Energy Agency, increased efficiency could account for more than 40% of emissions reductions in the next 20 years.

This places Alfa Laval products and solutions in a crucial position to leverage more than 90 years of experience in developing energy-efficient plate heat exchangers for energy savings and sustainability.
