Industry webinar explores solutions for sustainable food systems

Hosted by the Sustainability Committee of the Swedish-Australian Chamber of Commerce (SACC), Alfa Laval is pleased to join Tetra Pak and ABB for a virtual industry event exploring the problems and solutions for more sustainable and resilient food systems globally and in the Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia region.

About the event

Can food systems enable sustainable and resilient food value chain for tomorrow?

Food loss and waste (FLW) also account for 8-10 percent of global greenhouse gas emissions (GHGs), contributing to an unstable climate and extreme weather events such as droughts and flooding. Prioritizing the reduction of food loss and waste is therefore critical for the transition to sustainable food systems that improve the efficient use of natural resources, lessen their impact on the planet and ensure food security and nutrition.

In this session, we will discuss sustainable food and beverage systems problems and solutions from three different approaches by the following industry specialists:

  • Towards water stewardship and circularity – Patrick Horner, Global Technology Lead, Waste Evaporation and Zero Liquid Discharge, Alfa Laval

  • Reducing food loss and food waste – Katie Carson, Director Corporate Affairs Food & Climate Policy, Tetra Pak Group

  • Reducing energy and food waste in the F&B plant – John Rieusset, Sector Lead – Food and Beverage, ABB

The discussion will be facilitated by Linda Nordin, SACC Sustainability Committee and Circular Economy Specialist at SMEC.

Participation is free of charge.

This webinar is organised by the Swedish-Australian Chamber of Commerce’s Sustainability Committee, of which Alfa Laval is a founding member.
